tu veux des news? en veux-tu en voila!

Dear friends,

It has been a long time I didn’t write on my blog, sorry, but I have to tell you that I’m online very rarely since I don’t have internet at home, besides my school is closed. So I have to use the wireless connection of my friends when I go to their flat, very inconvenient indeed… Anyway, in a nutshell I work with some friends for our association, still trying to find sponsors and money. In 2 days, we got many good news, a few contracts signed with local and national sponsors for a few thousands euros. I hope I can also bring some money back before the end of the week. Actually we all take 2 to 3 weeks of holidays from next weekend as most of French firms are closed until mid-august.
So I go to Paris next Tuesday because…Tai arrives on Wednesday morning!!! I’m so glad that she could get her visa. So we will travel around France for the next 2 weeks before going back to Angers.
Last weekend I went to Nantes for Bruno’s birthday, we went to the river to practice some kayak, then Bruno invited us for a great diner, then we went to a shitty disco, Quai Ouest, where most of people inside were younger than us… Nevertheless two things impressed me: the first one is that there was only one Asian girl in the whole disco but she was dancing next to me, coincidence? The second thing is that there were 5 handicapped girls dancing on their rolling chairs, their handicap is that they do not have legs but the rest is ok, I mean their physical appearance is good. It was a shock for me as I never saw people like them in a disco, so I realized that they listen to the same music than us, they enjoy dancing like us, I was so naïve! The funniest thing occurred when one of these girls asked Bruno and me: “hey guys, wana dance with us?”
On Sunday we went to the beach of La Baule (the 2nd time for me in 1 week). Sea, sun and fun, people showing off…
I forgot to mention that since I came back to Angers, I often go to eat to the restaurant of my friend P’Bla called THAI L’INDE. Every time I go there I try to bring a different friend to make her restaurant more famous. The food is delicious, just go there! Besides P’Bla teaches some Thai language, thank you na ja!
When I was looking for some sponsors among Asian restaurants in Angers, I went to a Chinese restaurant called “Le temple du ciel”. The boss was not there but it was 12.30pm already so I decided to have lunch inside. I was the first client so I started to talk in Chinese to the waitress. She was very nice with me so I asked her to do some language exchange with me. She agreed and then we met today. We spoke a lot during 2 hours, both in French and Chinese. It’s good to practice Chinese again, I don’t want to forget…
Last Monday, I signed the contract for my new flat, 18m², 1.9km from Place du Ralliement, furnished, free parking space, 340 euros: not bad according to the small choice in Angers right now, but very bad compared to where I used to live in before in Angers…I will move there next weekend.

what's up in Angers?

I arrived in Angers last Saturday, the weather is so hot!!! Once arrived, I met some Thai friends in my street…what a coincidence. In the evening, Bruno arrived at my flat in order to spend the weekend with me. I brought him to a Thai restaurant opened by a friend, P’Bla. I ate Pad Thai, delicious! Saturday we walked together down town, remembering the “good old time”. At night, we went to a friend’s flat that has a big screen to watch the football game of France. The ambiance was crazy! Afterwards the city center was crowded like hell and we decided to go dancing to the disco MID’STAR, crowded as well. Sunday was dedicated to meet other friends and go to a park out of Angers, and then Bruno went back to Nantes.
Monday, first day in ESSCA, first day of work with my association (MERCURE), in a nutshell, back to basics. It’s strange to see friends again after 1 year of separation, everybody asks each other “so how was your experience? Great and you? Great!” I joined my first meeting since…a long time ago. I realized I have to catch up lots of things that have been done, lots of taken decision. But I also have to take decisions quickly about the suppliers of the show, the transportation, the carpets and the organization of the diner. It’s exciting and it forces me to relearn how to work with French people and with French companies. Tonight we have a diner all together, a barbecue in a flat down town… Then we played some games in order to generate some team building. Tomorrow morning we will play football at 9am.

In Semi Final

France won against Brazil in quarter final, great and unbelievable!!! I watched the game in Angers with my friends, great athmosphere in the streets after the game. People everywhere, yelling and singing, holding each other, whatever the colour of skin, the ethnic group, it didnt happen since we won the European Cup in 2000. Only football can make French people united and happy together, not the f###ing politics that rotten the country.
It must be horrible for Brazil because their people live for football, eat football, dream football, they couldnt imagine to be eliminated so early in the competition. Maybe they were too much self-confident, almost arrogant to other competitors.
Now we have to play against the worst team of this cup: Portugal. We know they will be violent, playing with our nerves, cheating with the referee, swimming near our goals to obtain a penalty, it will be difficult to keep cool and game oriented... I fear this game.
